Ilama Fruit Tree
The Ilama fruit tree, scientifically known as Annona Diversifolia and Annona macroprophyllata, is native to Central America, particularly in regions of El Salvador and Mexico. It is known for its unique heart-shaped fruits, which can have either a pink or white interior, offering flavors reminiscent of custard with subtle hints of berry, citrus, and tropical spices. These trees come in a 1-gallon pot and are between 1 to 2 feet tall. With proper care, Ilama trees can grow into medium-sized trees, eventually reaching 15 to 30 feet at maturity. They thrive in warm, subtropical climates and USDA zones 9-11
